Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth ParadeThe annual parade brings the community together for for a grand show of unity and support commemorating the freedom we all enjoy. All groups - motorized or walking, corporate floats, riding clubs, etc. are invited to participate.

Empowering YouIn conjunction with the Juneteenth festivities, the Ethel Ransom Humanitarian & Cultural Club is hosting the “Empowering You” event to address the many concerns and needs in our community.

Juneteenth License PlateIn 2015 with the support of State Representative Nicole Collier, Mrs. Lee successfully petitioned the Texas Legislature to commission a commemorative plate. You can own a piece of history and show your support all year long as you drive along the public thoroughfare.

Youth Choir ExplosionThis FREE week-long Fine Arts Workshop presents young people with a positive opportunity to develop tolerance of cultural differences and promote unity and racial harmony by bringing youth of all races and backgrounds together working to accomplish a common goal thereby producing knowledgeable and caring citizens for the future.
