Empowering You Festival Hosted By:
In conjunction with the Juneteenth festivities, the Ethel Ransom Humanitarian & Cultural Club is hosting the “Empowering You” event to address the many concerns and needs in our community. Our goal is to provide outreach services and information to give those who attend the power to change their circumstances armed with knowledge that may have been out of reach before.
Given that Ethel Ransom was a practicing nurse and civic advocate and her husband a medical doctor who together operated the first Black hospital in Fort Worth, it is the club’s goal to continue their passion for ensuring the community has access to information to help them have a better quality of life. Through the “Empowering You” event, we hope to provide another avenue for those who may not otherwise seek out the knowledge to change their future.
Event Highlights include but are not limited to:
· Healthcare information & screenings
· Employment Opportunities
· Food preparation demonstrations
· College Enrollment & Financial Aid
· FWISD School Programs and Information
· Benefits for military families
· Housing choices
· Funeral preparation
· Insurance - home, life and auto
· and much more.
